Petro de Luanda and 1.º de Agosto make their debut in the African 'champions' with a win

Petro de Luanda, coached by the Portuguese Alexandre Santos, started their access to the group stage of the African Football Champions League with a 3-0 rout over the Black Bulls, from Mozambique. 1.º de Agosto made their debut with a 0-0 win against the Zambians of Red Arrows.

In a disputed game, in Maputo, Petro saw Tiago Azulão, at 65 minutes, open the scoring and then Anderson and Pedro Pinto, at 75 and 82, set the final result of the first leg. The second game will be played on Saturday, in Luanda.

In the first qualifying round of the competition, 1.º de Agosto went to Estádio dos Heróis, in Lusaka. Zine, in the fifth minute, scored the lone goal for the Angolan team, who will defend their advantage in the second leg, at home, on the 18th of September.

In the last edition of the League of African Champions Clubs, the Angolans Petro de Luanda were eliminated in the semi-finals, by the Moroccans Wydad Casablanca.
