"I'm Lourenço Barcelos, 24 years old and I'm from Albufeira," he began, adding that he is a student and lives with his mother because his father, who was minister of sports and is currently the governor of Moxico province, is in Angola.

"I am a student and I help my mother in her restaurant. I live with my mother because my father is in Angola. He was Minister of Sports and now he is governor of the province of Moxico," he indicated.

During his presentation video, Lourenço Barcelos revealed that he is transsexual and that with his participation in this reality show he intends to "open mentalities."

"My childhood was good, but also full of prejudice. At the age of seven, I realized that I was not the same as my friends. I felt I was in the wrong body (...). At 16, 17 I had the courage to ask for help and start the transformation process. I am transsexual and I am here to open minds", he underlined.

He also said that he considers himself "well resolved", everything he's been through has made him a "stronger" person and that with his participation in the portuguese Big Brother he intends to be an "inspiration" not only for transsexual people, but for the entire LGBTQI community.

Regina Barcelos, Lourenço Barcelos' mother, owns a restaurant in Albufeira, "Churrasqueira na Brasa", which has Angolan dishes.
