The order, worth 90,000 dollars, should be delivered to Lagent within ten days and marks the start of sales outside Angola, the chairman of the Alcaal group, owner of the factory, Jorge do Amaral told Lusa.

Textang II, the largest fine fabric factory in Angola and one of the largest in Africa, with an area of 110 thousand square meters located in Cazenga (Luanda), employs around 400 people and has a production capacity of up to 10,000,000 meters of fabric per year.

"No other textile industry in the country has ever exported this large quantity of cotton yarn, ginned, cleaned, spun and finished in Angola", stressed the businessman.

According to Jorge do Amaral, the group, which will now make its first export to Portugal, is studying markets and entry strategies in other countries and negotiating the possibility of exporting fabric to Portugal and Spain, as well as opportunities in the United States market.

Although the cotton used for production was imported, the group, which operates mainly in Angola and Argentina, recently started a cotton production project in Malanje province.

Alcaal operates agro-industrial assets in more than 70,000 hectares, mainly dedicated to corn, soy and rice, as well as their industrial derivatives.
