"With the urban art, sculpture in one of the biggest tourist points of Luanda, the Foundation proposes to promote not only culture, art, but also tourism, by giving the Island an environment of bright colors, a place with an excellent visual expression," explains the Foundation, in a statement sent to VerAngola.
In this festival, participants will have the opportunity to share their art: "uniting each of the participating cities, there will be a global exchange of works. For example, a photograph taken in Angola will be digitally projected in the United States, in Cuba; a photograph taken in Costa Rica could appear as a mural in Angola".
"Through dialogue and exchange, we hope to convey the experiences and voices of those who have suffered systematic oppression and racism, particularly by exploring the Black Lives Matter movement and its vital message," the note reads.
The festival will also allow people to send a photograph taken during covi-19. This photograph will be "published on the website www.onevoiceinititive.com and then presented as part of an exhibition".
Those interested in participating only have to send images that reflect their experiences. They can do so in the Vox Populi section of the website www.onevoiceinitiative.com.
The festival "Change is in Unity" is part of the One Voice project, "a social movement that promotes the creation of international outdoor art festivals, using public art as a way to inspire and unite communities around the world" and was founded during the pandemic.
