"This is, to date, the largest number of people registered in the UEP castings. In 2018, approximately 18 thousand candidates registered, which was the highest number recorded so far", says a statement sent to VerAngola.
After the registration phase, the candidates – coming from different parts of the country and aged between 18 and 69 – will now have to show what they are worth in the in-person castings, which begin this Thursday.
According to the statement, in-person castings begin in the province of Huambo, on July 4th, at the Pavilhão Serra Van-Dúnem.
"On July 8th, candidates from Huíla will be put to the test in the audition that takes place at the Serra da Chela hotel, in Lubango", the note adds.
According to the calendar of in-person castings, Benguela is the third province to 'listen' to the candidates, whose castings will be held on July 12th at Estrela Clube 1.º de Maio.
For Luanda, five days of in-person castings are reserved, between the 18th and 22nd of July. "The province of Luanda hosts, at Zap Estúdios, the last casting marathon. There will be five intense days – from the 18th to the 22nd of July – in which the candidates will have to show that they deserve the opportunity to reach the big Unitel Estrelas ao Palco galas", reads the statement.
It is worth noting that the UEP concerns a national "contest to discover new talents for music", which evaluates "vocal potential and performance on stage through musical imitation".
