"Angola will host the twenty-sixth Interpol African Regional Conference in October this year, within the scope of the agreement on privileges and immunities initialed with the police organization, approved this Monday, July 3, at the 5th ordinary session of the Council of Ministers, led by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, at the Presidential Palace, in Luanda", informs the Government, in a statement to which VerAngola had access.
According to the note, the collaboration agreement between Angola and Interpol "aims to facilitate international police cooperation, as well as grant privileges and immunities to participants of the 26th Interpol African Regional Conference - Angola 2023".
It should be noted that the previous edition of the conference took place in June last year in Cotonou, Benin.
"The meeting hosted around 120 senior police officers from 29 African countries, who addressed a range of issues aimed at current and growing challenges, such as law enforcement on terrorism, cybercrime, financial crime and corruption, human trafficking and maritime piracy", the communiqué also reads.
