The actor, who conquered the Brazilians by participating in the soap opera "Segundo Sol", now promises to do it again on a world scale with the Brazilian series "Boca a Boca", by Netflix, which arrived on screens last Friday.
Licínio Januário, who gives life to the character Pontocom, revealed that this is the first time he has worked with Netflix. "Being in Netflix is a great victory, because Netflix is in 190 countries, and it is the largest company in the world streaming", he considered, in an interview to Platinaline.
After being part of the cast of the soap opera "Segundo Sol" his career began to grow. After the Brazilian production, the Angolan participated in the second season of "Impuros", a FOX series and in the movie Vale Night, which will soon be released at Disney. Januário was also part of the series "Balaclava", which will soon premiere on Prime Box Brasil channel.
The actor talked about the opportunities that this medium offers to black actors, admitting that there are many difficulties in gaining important roles. "For example, Nigerian and South African cinema are very present in Netflix, so much so that Netflix has opened a central in both countries, which allows them to increase the production number. I don't see Netflix opening a plant in a Portuguese-speaking country any time soon because they only go where there is already a consolidated industry, that is, if they don't increase the production numbers, the artistic career will always be very difficult for black artists, because we are not the first to be chosen," he said.
The "Boca a Boca" series tells the story of a mysterious 'kissing disease' that is transmitted quickly among high school students, leaving everyone in a panic.
The production of Esmir Filho was recorded between September and November of last year, revealed Licínio Januário, stating that he will participate in other series this year, but without giving details.
