According to a statement from the Presidency of the Republic, to which VerAngola had access, members of civil society were received in separate audiences.
"The first interlocutor of the head of state was King Muana Uta, sovereign of the Bayakas, Quimbele region, Uíge province, followed by Reverend Suzete João and the Secretary General of the Council of Christian Churches of Angola (CICA), Vladimir Agostinho", the statement says.
After the meetings, the three leaders were unanimous in their statements to the press, having stated that they "discussed with President João Lourenço aspects of the country's social and economic nature".
"King Muana Uta referred to the willingness of the population of his constituency to continue contributing to the development of the country, as well as to the consolidation of peace", the statement says.
Suzete João defended the "increase in jobs for young people, among other aspects", while the leader of CICA congratulated himself on the "support that the government provides to churches in proclaiming the gospel", as well as in the "continuous fight against poverty".
