According to the group H game calendar – in which Angola is included, along with the teams from Macedonia, Iceland and the United States of America (USA) –, Angola will play again on the 21st of this month against the USA and, on the following day, with Macedonia.
Before the world championship, which will be played from the 19th to the 30th of June in Macedonia, the team completed a seven-day training camp in Hungary, in which they played and won two matches. According to Angop, on Hungarian soil, the team coached by José Chuma played against Budaors and Nemesvamos, winning 28-23 and 32-30, respectively.
After Hungary, in Macedonia, the team led by José Chuma played a preparatory tournament, having lost to Romania 26-28 and beat Chile (26-19).
According to Angop, in the third position qualifiers, the national team lost to China 32-30, on penalties, after regulation time ended in a draw at 28 points.
In the world cup, the country aims to equal or surpass the sixth place achieved in the 2022 edition, held in Slovenia.
At the World Cup, group A is made up of the teams from Romania, Netherlands, Brazil and Iran, while Switzerland, Egypt, Tunisia and Chile make up group B. The teams from Hungary, Republic of Korea, Argentina and Mexico and the teams from Denmark, Norway, Japan and Taipei China make up groups C and D, respectively.
Group E is made up of Sweden, Algeria, China and the Czech Republic, group F is made up of France, Germany, Spain and Serbia and group G is made up of Portugal, Montenegro, Guinea and Uzbekistan.
