African Americans Tucker returns to explore Malanje and Cuanza Norte

The African-American Tucker family, descendants of the first Angolans enslaved in the United States of America (USA), is returning to the country to continue exploring their Angolan roots. The family's itinerary starts in Luanda and will be extended to other provinces, namely Cuanza Norte and Malanje.

Members of the Tucker family arrived in the country this Friday, having been received at the 4 de Fevereiro International Airport by a delegation from the Municipal Administration of Luanda and the Ministry of the Interior, informed the Municipal Administration of Luanda, in a statement that VerAngola had access.

"As part of the promotion and promotion of tourism in the country and the development of memory tourism, the African-American Tucker family, descendants of the first Angolans made slaves in the territory of the United States of America, returned to the country to continue their exploration and tourist visit", the note reads.

The visit of the 24 family members will take place until the end of the month. Over the next few days, the Tuckers will explore Luanda, as well as the provinces of Malanje and Cuanza Norte.

"With the aim of establishing contact with the Angolan roots that have influenced the various areas of American culture and according to the itinerary called 'Angola Heritage Tour', the visit of the 24 family members takes place from the 21st to the 30th of June, starting in the municipality from Luanda, continuing to other points in the province and later to the provinces of Cuanza Norte and Malanje".
