According to a statement from the National Institute of Support for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (INAPEM), to which VerAngola had access, the national startup "convinced the jury of the 13th edition of the Abu Dhabi Annual Global Investment Congress, which took place from the 7th to the 9th of May", in the United Arab Emirates.

Thus, the project became the winner of the competition that brought together 50 unicorns (startups worth more than a billion dollars) in the event where "175 countries and more than 12 thousand participants were involved".

"With this achievement, 'ANDA' won a ticket to participate in the 'Xmatch Demo Day' event, scheduled to take place on November 24, 2024, in Cairo, Egypt", the document states.

The aforementioned appointment is the result of work that the institute and its partners, "especially the Provincial Government of Luanda, have developed in favor of promoting the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in Angola, capitalizing and supporting all initiatives that compete for the growth and expansion of these projects created in the country".

INAPEM also recalls that, last month, in the capital, twenty national startups "participated in a pitch via Zoom", which aimed to evaluate the best initiative "with the potential to scale the Abu Dhabi Annual Global Investment Congress".

"At the time, this initiative was led by INAPEM and had specialized technical support from Acelera Angola, having been won by 'ANDA' which, now, has also just made history by winning the national competition of that Persian Golf country", says the note.

To travel to Abu Dhabi, 'ANDA' "relied on the institutional and material support of INAPEM and Acelera Angola", whose achievement "forces us to increasingly follow the extensive path of regional self-affirmation of the Angolan ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship, highlighting the need to improve continuous support for operators in the sector".

"The startup 'ANDA' is one of the notable emerging companies in the Angolan ecosystem, created to transform urban mobility in Angola, through licensed motorcycle taxi transport, whose service stands out for the application of an innovative technological model", the note said.

It should be noted that this year's edition of the congress, one of the main global investment platforms, was under the motto "Adapting to a changing investment scenario: taking advantage of the new potential for global economic development", being an initiative from the AIM Global Foundation, whose organization is supported by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology and the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development.
