João Lourenço's message addressed to his counterpart, Joe Biden, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with the US, was released this Sunday on the Presidency's official Facebook page.
The head of state showed appreciation for the growing closer ties between the two countries and stressed that he shares the views already expressed by Joe Biden with "inspiring words".
The US President on Friday highlighted the "shared values that unite" the two nations, renewing their commitment to jointly achieving "a more peaceful, secure and democratic world for all".
"As we mark three decades of diplomatic relations, we want to emphasize the fact that they have been proving to be increasingly important and transformative for our respective countries and peoples", stressed João Lourenço.
"Our commitment to prosperity, security, innovation, justice and friendship is irreversible and, in this context, I highlight the announcements made by President Joe Biden at the recent G7 Summit in Hiroshima, Japan, as further evidence of the growing partnership between our two countries", he added.
The President highlighted the "ever higher levels" of the relationship between the two partners, noting the investments announced by the US in areas such as digital technology, solar energy and railway infrastructure, as well as the growing partnership also in the area of Defense and Security.
"The growing partnership between the two nations is an important catalyst for the changes that are taking place in our country, it contributes gradually and progressively to the creation of prosperous living conditions for the Angolan people", underlined João Lourenço.
The Republic of Angola, he underlined, "will continue to make efforts to strengthen and deepen political-diplomatic relations and economic cooperation with the US at all levels, based on respect, reciprocity and mutual advantages for the benefit of both countries and its peoples".
