Angola and Norway draw 300 training scholarships for young people. European country will finance scholarships

The Government, together with Norway and the United Nations, decided to invest in technical-vocational training for young residents in the municipality of Cazenga. Accordingly, as part of the project to promote and develop skills and create jobs for young people, 300 training scholarships were raffled off.

:

Fully funded by Norway, the scholarships are valued at 512 thousand and 600 dollars and are intended for young people aged 14 to 24 years old who live in that municipality.

According to the general director of the National Institute of Employment and Professional Training (INEFOP), Manuel Mbangui, people with physical disabilities and teenage mothers will have priority in the process.

"People with physical disabilities who have registered and who have been selected because they live in Cazenga will not participate in the lottery process. In other words, they have a direct inclusion. Another aspect also here has to do with women, but we are talking about young teenage mothers," the official began by explaining, in statements to Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA).

In his turn, the Norwegian ambassador, Kikkan Haugen, considered that the attribution of these scholarships will "promote the development of skills and job creation for young people".

He also admitted that this lottery will not only benefit "directly the young Angolans", but will also "indirectly benefit their families".

The Minister of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security, Teresa Rodrigues Dias, said that "the bet on professional training becomes a means and a fundamental tool because it contributes to changing the technical and social profile of young people who attend these actions, thus increasing their qualifications.

On the other hand it also assumes itself "as a factor of sustainability of the socio-economic development because it contributes to the reduction of social exclusion", she added.
