On May 25, the day that marks Africa Day, an online conference on "Contemporary African Art in the Pandemic Age" will be held.
Organized by the Museum of African Art in Belgrade, Serbia, the conference will be broadcast online on Color Media Communications' YouTube channel.
The conference will be opened by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, the Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia, Maja Gojković, the Mayor of the City of Belgrade, Prof. Dr. Zoran Radojicic and the Director of the Museum of African Arts, Marija Aleksic.
The ambassadors of Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia to the Republic of Serbia will also be present, as well as the ambassadors of the Republic of Serbia to UNESCO, Tamara Rastovac Siamashwilli, and to the Republic of Angola, Milos Perisic.
The African continent will be represented at the conference by Joana Taya, Angolan visual artist, by Dominick Maia Tanner, Founder of ELA-Espaço Luanda Arte in Angola, by Desire Dibasen Nanuses, curator of the National Art Gallery of Namibia, and by artists from Zimbabwe, Morocco, Egypt, and Nigeria.
The event is scheduled to begin at 10 am.
