Portuguese Language Days

From May 4 to 6, the Jornadas da Língua Portuguesa will take place to mark the commemorations of the World Day of the Portuguese Language.

The event will consist of six webinar panels that will bring together writers, academics and musicians from Angola, Brazil and Portugal.

The panels will bring together 18 contemporary exponents of literature, arts and universities from the three countries to discuss the theme "Language & Literatures: the Portuguese in Transit".

Among the names already confirmed are the Portuguese Alexandre Valinho Gigas, Luca Argel, Luís Varatojo, Manuel Alberto Vieira, Margarida Calafate Ribeiro, and Ricardo Namora; the Brazilians Carol Rodrigues, Juliana Perdigão, Natália Tossati, and Paloma Vidal, as well as Renato Negrão and Ricardo Domeneck; and the Angolans Abreu Paxe, Ana Pita Grós, Gociante Patissa, Irene A'mosi, and Timóteo Ulika (Cornélio Caley).

The conversations will take place at two times, at 2pm and 6pm for Angola and Portugal.

The conferences, which result from an initiative of the Cultural Center of Brazil in Angola (CCBA) and Camões - Portuguese Cultural Center in Luanda, will be online and free and can be followed from anywhere in the world.
