Despite the restrictions imposed by the covid-19 pandemic, national designers will be free to show Angolans their creations and trends.

Karina Barbosa, responsible for the production of Moda Luanda 2021, stressed that despite the adversities and obstacles to making fashion in the country, the creators continue to work and battle for the industry.

"With all the difficulties that Angola and the world faced because of covid-19, which forced" the almost total closure and caused "huge losses and damage to the fashion industry and the challenges that all of us, fashion professionals, companies and institutions still have in our daily lives and ahead of us, it is essential to press play and put to play all our work and creativity," said the responsible, quoted by Angop.

Soraya da Piedade, Nadir Tati, Layane dos Santos, Orlando Zua, Celeste Muampuya Millucha, are some of the guests who will be present at the event.

She also informed that for the parade of the creations of the year, a contest is taking place to discover new talents on stage. According to the responsible, the contest serves to find young talents able to parade with the collections of national creators during the fair.

In addition to the presentation of new collections, the event will also feature an awards moment for the outstanding creators in the categories of fashion, music, film and television.

This year's edition of Moda Luanda will be similar to last year's: the show will be held without the presence of the public and will be shown live on TV Zimbo.
