Police arrest three Nigerians involved in carjacking for theft of parts

The police announced this Thursday the arrest of three Nigerian citizens involved in the theft and robbery of car parts, namely 685 electronic plates, which were in their possession.

According to a police statement, the arrests are the result of compliance with the strategic plan to combat violent crimes, carried out by the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) and the National Police forces.

The search operation aimed at combating the theft and robbery of vehicle accessories was carried out between 18 April and 13 May in the districts of 28 August, Kapolo II and Golf1, with greater incidence in Nova Vida urbanization.

The detainees, aged between 35 and 40, were presented to the press this Thursday, as well as the material seized, which was to be sold at informal markets, the main one being the Post Office Market, where 430 plates were seized, and inside the residence of one of the other 255.

According to the document, the vehicles most affected are Toyota Land Cruiser and Hilux and Hyundai.
