Furthermore, according to José Ferrão, WFP representative in the aforementioned province, the document, which was signed this Thursday in Dundo, also includes a school feeding programme, management of acute destruction, support for peasant families, as well as financing transformed into inputs and aid, writes Angop.
The parties intend, through the memorandum, to provide considerable stimulus in the areas of nutrition, education and health, according to José Ferrão, who also clarified that the initialing of this memorandum represents the formal aspect, given that some of the projects mentioned in the document are already underway, in collaboration with the Institute for Agrarian Development (IDA), responsible for technical assistance and project preparation.
According to the WFP representative in Lunda Norte, the memorandum requires that the execution of projects and the distribution of equipment be preceded by the training of beneficiaries, aiming to achieve the established objectives.
He also mentioned that, for the execution of the new projects planned for June, within the framework of the memorandum, three million dollars are available, writes Angop.
Filomena Miza, governor of Lunda Norte, pointed out the development of agriculture for food security as one of the executive's main priorities, seeing this memorandum as an important incentive for this challenge.
"We will work with our partner so that the actions contained in the memorandum do not remain on paper, but rather become concrete actions, because agriculture is the only way to combat unemployment and hunger in families," said the governor, who, quoted by Angop, reinforced that the government will pay special attention to the training of farmers, through this collaboration, so that production occurs in accordance with technical and scientific standards.
