CPLP: Luanda stage for the creation of a confederation of associations in the private education sector

Associations from the private education sector of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) signed this Tuesday, in Luanda, a memorandum of understanding to create a Confederation of Private Education Associations of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CAEP).

:

In a statement, the nine national associations of the private education sector of the CPLP countries - Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe and Timor-Leste - state that their objective is to promote " the freedom to teach and educate and reinforce cooperation for the development of education in all Portuguese-speaking countries".

The CAEP installation commission begins its first meeting in the capital in the afternoon, which will culminate on Wednesday with a conference on the theme "The future of private education in CPLP countries".

At this plenary meeting of representatives of national associations, the draft statutes of the newly created confederation will also be signed.

With the signing of these two documents, the national associations that represent the private education sector in the nine CPLP countries "formalize the collective commitment to the fundamental principles, values and objectives of the confederation and formalize the beginning of an ambitious and promising project for the teaching in all CPLP countries", they emphasize in the note.

The objective appears "in line with the Declaration of the XIV Conference of Heads of States and Government of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries, which encouraged the development and implementation of programs in the area of education", they highlight.

At the conference, participants will be expected to present their vision on the role that CAEP can play in the education sector of member countries.

Open to leaders, educators and professionals in the field of Education from across the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries, this Conference also aims to "promote the discussion and exchange of international experiences on the challenges and opportunities that are emerging in the area of education , as well as publicizing innovative projects in this area", concludes the document.
