According to a statement from the Government of the Province of Luanda (GPL), to which VerAngola had access, the school in question is Primary School No. 9056 and was handed over by the governor of Luanda, Manuel Homem.
"This is Primary School No. 9056, with eight classrooms, in honor of the former teacher Gabriel Mendes Machado, a professional with more than 40 years dedicated to education, delivered last Wednesday, April 17, by the governor provincial of Luanda, Manuel Gomes da Conceição Homem, to meet one of the needs of the community in the Honga neighborhood, in the Urban District of Lar do Patriota, municipality of Talatona", the note reads.
The aforementioned school was rehabilitated, expanded and equipped within the framework of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM).
In addition to the governor of Luanda, the vice-governors, municipal administrator of Talatona, José de Oliveira dos Santos Bastos, and provincial directors were present at the handover ceremony.
Honga neighborhood also receives new reference health center
In addition to the school, GPL also delivered a new reference health center in the Honga neighborhood.
The infrastructure, inaugurated by Manuel Homem, was also built within the scope of PIIM.
"Despite the challenges faced during its construction, the community of the Honga neighborhood, in the Urban District of Lar do Patriota, received, this Wednesday, April 17th, the new Reference Health Center, inaugurated by the provincial governor of Luanda, Manuel Gomes da Conceição Homem", points out GPL, in another statement, to which VerAngola had access.
According to the note, the health center, which has several specialized services and has a capacity for 30 beds, "is an initiative of GPL to improve health services and provide a more humanized and efficient environment for residents of the Honga neighborhood and surrounding areas".
