This agreement has enabled the creation of a 5G technology observatory, which will allow students and telecom operators to create conditions to move forward with the digital transformation process and improve investment in the sector.

According to the Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technology and Media, Manuel Homem, this will reinforce the focus on training staff in the sector in order to "respond" to this digital challenge.

"We will develop capacities, knowledge, to respond to this universe that will certainly demand from us technological preparation with national staff capable of responding to the demands that the new generation of telecommunications will demand from all of us," said the minister, quoted by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA).

Manuel Homem acknowledged that "5G is starting to be a reality" and, therefore, it is important to start investing in training so that "our country is not left behind.

The holder of the Telecommunications, Information Technology and Media portfolio also made it known that the sector is open to "other initiatives that allow young people who are in university and who will leave university to join incubators that generate business for the electronic communications sector within the sector's strategy so that incubators can emerge.

Santos Garcia Vilar, patron of Cuanza International University, acknowledged that this observatory "will be like an engine to bring to Angola great experts in the field of technologies and share experiences of the implementation of 5G technology in the field of energy, industry, agriculture".
