Alliance Française marks International Jazz Day

In allusion to the International Jazz Day, the Alliance Française will promote several events, including a film cycle and an exhibition.

In the film cycle the films "Tonton Manu" and "Staff Benda Bilili" will be presented. The first one talks about a great figure of (Central) Africa, jazz icon Manu Dibango, and the second about the musical style that is Congolese Rumba, which became intangible heritage of humanity.

"Staff Benda Bilili" will be screened on Friday, April 23. Admission is free and the event will take place at the Iron Palace, starting at 6:30pm.

Tonton Manu" will be shown on Wednesday, April 28th, at the Iron Palace. With free admission, the film will be shown starting at 6:30 pm.

Between April 24 and May 8 the exhibition "Rumba Connection" will be available. The exhibition has free admission and can be visited at the Iron Palace from 2pm to 7pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and from 10am to 6pm on Saturdays.
