The meeting served to address issues related to the transport sector, including the certification of the aforementioned airport, the process of which should be completed next year.
In a statement to which VerAngola had access, the government of the province of Namibe informs that in the meeting between the delegation of the Ministry of Transport and the provincial government were discussed "topics related to the requalification of the Namibe waterfront, works to complete the Cine Estúdio and the certification of the Welwitschia Mirabilis airport, the process of which is scheduled to be completed in 2026".
Furthermore, "the issue of the reduced number of TAAG flight frequencies to Namibe, the insufficient number of carriages for the Moçâmedes-Bibala route and the appropriate use of the CFM [Moçâmedes Railway] houses located along the branch line" are other topics discussed.
"The Minister of Transport, Ricardo de Abreu, is on a working visit to Namibe to observe the progress of the integrated development works of Moçâmedes Bay, within the scope of the GoMoçâmedes program, which is prioritizing, at this stage, the extension and rehabilitation of the Sacomar Commercial and Mineral Port. The project is being executed by the Toyota Tsusho Corporation and TOA consortium", reads the note from the provincial government.
