"The conversation revolved around regional issues, with President Ould Ghazouani, in his capacity as acting president of the African Union, expressing his support for the mediation efforts that President João Lourenço is developing to restore peace in the Democratic Republic of Congo", says the Presidency of the Republic, in a statement, to which VerAngola had access.
In addition, the two government officials also addressed "coordination within the African Union Assembly Bureau, a structure in which Angola occupies the first vice-presidency".
It is recalled that the rotating presidency of the AU was assumed by Mauritania, in February, at the last Summit of Heads of State.
