Angola Oil&Gas holds networking meeting in the United States in March

The Angola Oil&Gas Conference (AOG) will be present at this year's edition of CERAWeek, in Houston (Texas, USA) to organize a networking meeting that aims to promote the Angolan oil market and sector.

:

The meeting will take place on March 19th, in partnership with ANPG (National Agency for Oil, Gas and Biofuels), with this year's edition dedicated to the theme "Multidimensional Energy Transition: Markets, climate, technology and geopolitics".

According to a statement from Energy Capital & Power, responsible for the Oil&Gas conference, speakers are expected to highlight the different opportunities offered by the oil, gas and biofuel sector and its entire value chain, especially in the areas of exploration and distribution.

Angola intends to increase its oil production to 1.18 million barrels per day this year and, in the medium and long term, resume the approximately 2 million barrels already produced in the past, with new explorations expected to start soon , following tenders made since 2019.

Recently, the country concluded another round of oil bidding, in which 12 blocks were auctioned in the Congo and Kwanza basins, with the next round scheduled for 2015.

Angola's proven oil reserves are estimated at nine billion barrels of oil and 11 trillion cubic feet of gas.

For investors, Angola offers onshore and offshore oil investment prospects, as well as emerging opportunities in gas and LNG exploration.

The company Corcel revealed, in December 2023, recent results from positive drilling at KON-11 in the Kwanza Basin, which indicate the return of onshore oil production in the country.

To attract regular investment in oil basins and unlock new discoveries, ANPG launched a bidding round in 2019, which will last until 2025. "The success of this strategy is demonstrated by the growing interest in the bidding rounds themselves, with 53 proposals submitted just for the recent tender for 12 blocks", says the statement.

The networking event that Energy Capital&Power organizes in Houston aims to contribute to the materialization of these objectives, with the intention that North American investors establish contacts with the main players in the oil and gas sector in Angola.

Scheduled for 5pm on March 19th, this event also serves to promote and boost the 2024 conference. AOG is the largest oil and gas event in Angola, held with the support of the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, the oil company Sonangol, ANPG, the African Energy Chamber and the Petroleum Derivatives Regulatory Institute. It asserts itself as a platform for signing agreements and advancing the oil and gas industry in the country.
