Winners of the first edition of the National Woman of Merit Award have already been announced. Meet them here

The names of the winners of the first edition of the National Woman of Merit Award were revealed this Tuesday, in Luanda, at a press conference led by the president of the jury, Rosa Cruz e Silva.

Thus, according to Rosa Cruz e Silva, the prize in the 'Research' category was awarded to Cláudia Videira, while the prize in the 'Health' category was won by the doctor specializing in gynecology Francisca Paulo.

Nádia Camate won the 'Entrepreneurship' category, the prize in the 'Fisheries' category was won by Rosalina António, while Joaquina Francisca won the prize in 'Family Farming'.

In the 'Overcoming' and 'Tourism, Environment and Biodiversity' categories, Ema da Silva and Graciete Marta won, respectively.

Also on the list of winners are Maria Fernandes, who won in the 'Culture and Arts' category, Arlete Borges, who won the 'Women and Citizenship' category, and Maria Faustino, who won the 'Blue Economy' prize.

On the occasion, Rosa Cruz e Silva highlighted the candidacy of 124 women from 15 provinces, having also informed that the 'Agricultural' category was left "with no eligible candidacies".

The winners will receive an honorable mention, diploma and 1,500,000 kwanzas, whose award ceremony will take place on April 6th.

The said prize, established by the Government through a presidential decree, "fulfills the honorable mission of distinguishing and honoring the merit of women who stood out in 2022 in each of the categories defined by the said prize", further clarified the president of the jury.
