Top Rádio Luanda returns five years later and distinguishes Chelsea Dinorath and Selda

Chelsea Dinorath and Selda were at the top of Top Rádio Luanda 2022, winning two categories each. At the contest’s award gala – which returned five years later and took place at Tenda da Baía last Friday – singer Chelsea Dinorath took the awards in the revelation and best female voice categories, while Selda won awards in the best ballad of the year and afrojazz categories.

Using social networks, the singer Selda thanked for the achievements: "Best Afro Jazz and Best Ballad of 2022! You are incredible! Thank you for all this affection and support! This award is with me, but it is ours. Thank you, continue to invest in our music!", she wrote on his Instagram.

Chelsea Dinorath also took to Instagram to leave a brief thank you. "Two awards in one night. By far, one of the best moments of my life. Thanks to God and to all of you!", the publication reads.

According to Angop, the competition also distinguished Nikila de Sousa (best kizomba), Halison Paixão (male voice), Gerilson Insrael (guetto zouk) and Taxas and Tatá Almeida (best semba).

Among the winners are also Jojó Gouveia (in the version of the year category), Miguel Buila (Gospel), Baló Januário (Folklore), Anderson Mário (revelation male voice), Biura and Dreezy (R&B) and Deezy (Rap).

Ingomblock, Real Drogadinho and Gabriel Tchiema were also among the winners, having won the awards in the afro beat fusion, kuduro and career categories, respectively, writes Angop.

According to Angop, the revelation of the winners was preceded by a homage to Luanda – designated "Cantares de Luanda" –, where, for 40 minutes, the artists Nguami Maka, Euclides da Lomba, Maya Zuda, Claudeth Tichzungo, Lio Francis, Jojó Gouveia, Kanú André, Gelson Castro and Alexandra Bento, accompanied by Banda FM, joined voices.

In addition to the winners – who received a diploma, medal and trophy –, the gala also paid tribute to Rosa Rock, Noite e Dia, Nova Energia, Jorge Servante, Tito Paris, Bi-Max, DJ's Mania, Chico Viegas, Lutonda, the producer Hochi Fu, as well as the House of Culture of Rangel Nzinga Bande and the Kilamb Cultural Centre, writes Angop.

Also marking the event, a small thank you made by Weza Caiu Mendes, widow of Nagrelha, who was also among the honorees of the gala.
