Angola Artists Gallery in Lisbon opens collective exhibition “Fala Só”

The Galeria Artistas de Angola, in Lisbon, opens, in April, the collective exhibition “Fala Só”, which brings together works of painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography and video art by ten Angolan artists, it was announced.

Curated by the painter and photographer Lino Damião, "Fala Só" brings together works by Anna Rocheta, Armanda Alves, Erika Jamece, Grácia Ferreira, Indira Mateta, Don Ruelas, Jorge Sistelo, Lino Damião, Nelo Teixeira and Silvestre Quizembe, according to the gallery in a press release.

"Inspired by Bonga Kwenda's free speech in the latest track 'Ti Zuela' from the album Kintal da Banda, released in 2022, which at the end of each stanza says '... I'm speaking alone', these artists also decided to 'speak alone ' about their concerns, experiences and experiences, in these increasingly challenging modern times", reads the statement.

"Fala Só" will be on display at Galeria Artistas de Angola between 9 April and 8 May.
