Supreme Court suspends final allegations session in '500 million case

The Supreme Court suspended the session on Wednesday, in which the final allegations of the trial of the case on the alleged irregular transfer of 500 million dollars from the National Bank of Angola were due, due to the covid-19.

The information was sent to Lusa this Tuesday by the judicial secretary of the court, pointing out that everything is suspended until further orders.

"Judgment, contradictory instruction, everything is suspended. The court is working on gas, it is only working one person a day in the chamber, we are in the preventive quarantine, so everything that involves the public, people, everything is suspended "said the source.

The court had scheduled for Wednesday the final allegations of the trial in which Valter Filipe, former governor of the National Bank of Angola (BNA), of José Filomeno dos Santos, former president of the Sovereign Fund of Angola, of Jorge Gaudens, is accused. Sebastião, a businessman, and António Bule Manuel, director of the BNA's reserve management department, who are responsible for crimes of embezzlement, fraud by fraud, money laundering and influence peddling.
