This conclusion is "a fundamental pillar of the New Gas Consortium (NGC) project", thus representing "a significant step in Angola's first non-associated gas development", says the company, in a statement sent to VerAngola.
The importance of this achievement was highlighted by Azule Energy's operations director, Alister Forder, who considered that the project reaffirms the company's commitment to "unlocking Angola's energy potential and contributing to a sustainable energy future".
"Today's milestone is a reflection of the spirit of collaboration, technical capability and dedication of all partners involved in the New Gas Consortium. As we prepare for first gas from the NGC, this project reaffirms our commitment to unlocking Angola's energy potential and contributing to a sustainable energy future," he said.
According to the note, in order to celebrate this milestone in Angola's first non-associated gas development, the company and its partners witnessed, this Tuesday, the loading and departure ceremony of the Quiluma deck, at the Petromar Shipyard, in Ambriz.
The event highlighted the project's "impressive safety record", with 2.5 million man-hours (a unit used to measure the amount of work performed by an average worker in one hour) completed "without a single lost-time accident", representing "a testament to the firm commitment to safety and operational excellence".
It is worth noting that the NGC project is a partnership between Azule Energy, Sonangol P&P, Chevron and TotalEnergies.
"As the country's first non-associated gas initiative, it will play a crucial role in ensuring a reliable supply of gas to the Soyo LNG plant, strengthening Angola's energy security and supporting its economic growth," the statement said.
This project comprises the exploration and production of gas from the "shallow water fields of Quiluma and Maboqueiro", including two offshore platforms (Quiluma and Maboqueiro), as well as an onshore gas processing unit.
"Together, these facilities will take advantage of Angola's natural gas resources, providing economic and environmental benefits," the note further states.
