To this end, Alfredo Rey, who did not provide investment values, has already asked for land. Quoted by Angop, the businessman explained that the first steps involve recognizing a location that has the necessary conditions to operate, followed by contacts with local producers about the most produced breeds, the method of production and use of the animal, as well as an overview of the slaughterhouse, conservation chambers and other aspects linked to the chain.
On the occasion, the Argentine also said he has a group with partners, whose objective is to invest in livestock farming on Angolan soil, the sector of which can still grow.
According to Francisco Barros Leonardo, administrator of the municipality of Gambos, the businessman "estimates" to obtain, at a local level, more than 2000 heads of cattle to crossbreed and take advantage of products such as milk, meat, skin, etc.
The administrator – who took the opportunity to highlight that this was the Argentine's first visit to the Gambos – also mentioned the terrain for implementing the initiative. Quoted by Angop, he said that there are 2099 hectares available to invest in this field, with security, energy and water conditions already assured.
According to the person responsible, a document with the conditions available is being prepared. "We are preparing the complete dossier of the conditions we have, but the investor was willing to invest in Gambos, as he saw that the municipality is suitable for agricultural activity, hence his great intention", he indicated.
For his part, Domingos Kalumana, director of the Provincial Office for Integrated Economic Development of Huíla, explained that contacts with the businessman were consolidated after a visit to the province, in October last year, by the Argentine ambassador, having also reiterated that the investor is interested in investing in the province, more specifically in livestock farming, cattle production and dairy products, and the cabinet identified Gambos as having high potential for this purpose.
