The statement from Indra, sent this Monday to the Lusa agency, comes after the National Electoral Commission of Angola (CNE) confirmed that the company was chosen, through a public tender, to provide the technological solution that encompasses the provisional count and the final count of all registered votes in the general election.

At the time, CNE spokesman Lucas Quilundo told journalists that the removal of the other competing company, SmartMatic, was due to non-compliance with the rules of the contest and ruled out that Indra's choice compromised the "smoothness" of the electoral process, despite the Angolan opposition contesting the option for allegations of fraud.

Indra states in the statement that its technological solution "guarantees compliance with the transparency and security requirements required by law, which implies the redundancy of computing, transmission, processing and results dissemination systems".

The Spanish company, which has already organized more than 400 national and international electoral processes, with more than four billion voters involved, will also be responsible for acquiring, transporting and delivering all the material necessary for these general elections.

Indra has already been involved in holding elections in the United Kingdom, Norway, France, Spain, Portugal, Argentina, Chile and Colombia, as well as in the 2008, 2012 and 2017 general elections in Angola.
