Sovereign Fund: first phase of the restructuring process has already been completed

The first stage of the restructuring process of the Sovereign Fund of Angola has already been completed, and the focus is now on the implementation of the directives that resulted from that process, revealed Alcides José, head of the study and exchange department of the Sovereign Fund.

:

"What we are doing is implementing the directives that were approved in this restructuring process. Executive, because it is a vehicle that aims to materialize a government strategy. Therefore, from this perspective, the structuring is complete", explained the official, quoted by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA).

As an example, Alcides José mentioned the issue of the review that was made "to the investment policy itself in terms of asset allocation".

"Here about asset allocation, we recently completed the update of the Sovereign Fund's asset allocation strategy, we did it with the support of a British entity, Mercer, which specializes in the issue of structuring portfolios for strategic allocation for institutional clients, (...) this process was concluded recently", he added.

He also took the opportunity to talk about the process of choosing new fund managers: "These new managers, first, will allow the alignment of the Sovereign Fund's organic point of view with regard to the limit number of fund managers, because the fund until now it has been working with a single external manager, contrary to what the fund management regulations establish", he said, quoted by RNA.

Furthermore, he considered that the institution now "has a more focused structure, at least with regard to the resources that the fund currently has", as a result of the two decapitalizations that took place, which "in fact focuses on maximizing results and saving of wealth for future generations".
