A statement sent to VerAngola states that, one year after the launch of the music streaming service in the country, there was a 22 percent increase in the number of Angolan artists and 3061 songs were added to the platform by the creators.
The top local singers that Angolans listened to the most on Spotify during the past year is led by Gerilson Insrael. In second place is Trinity 3nity, followed by Anna Joyce. Also noteworthy are Kelson Most Wanted and Mobbers, who occupy the fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
In addition, the same artists also managed to secure a spot on the list of the most played global songs in the country. First place goes to the song 'Indecipherable' by Trinity 3nity.
The top three also include the songs 'Africana' and 'Minha Vida' by Gerilson Insrael. Also noteworthy is the song 'Eu Esperai' by Anna Joyce, which is in four places, followed by 'Ye Ye' by Gerilson Insrael.
Outside, the sounds of Angola were also heard: the Angolan artist most listened to outside Angola was Deejay Telio, followed by Bonjr, Bonga, C4 Pedro and Anselmo Ralph.
According to the note, national rap was the most listened to local genre, "with a 20 percent increase in the number of times this genre has been played since the launch of Spotify in Angola".

During the past year, Angolans created 186,700 playlists, with the names "list, vibes, rap, trap, and love" being the names Angolans are most likely to give their playlists.
Across borders, local genres have the largest number of listeners in Portugal, France and the United Kingdom.
