Banco Angolano de Investimentos summons a general meeting for 31 March

Banco Angolano de Investimentos (BAI) summoned its general meeting for 31 March, highlighting among the items on the agenda the resolutions on the sale of shares and the ongoing Public Offer for Sale.

:

The agenda for the main meeting of the largest Angolan bank in terms of assets includes 13 points, including deliberations on the management report and application of results, remuneration policy for members of the governing bodies, partial amendment of the bank's statutes and election of governing bodies for the quadrennium 2022-2025.

In addition, according to this Monday's announcement published in Jornal de Angola, information will be provided on the acquisition and sale of own shares and on the listing on the stock exchange.

Last month, BAI began the process of listing on the stock exchange, with a request for approval of the Public Offer for Sale of 10 percent of its capital, held by the State through the state-owned oil company Sonangol and the diamond company Endiama, with a view to the sale of 1,945,000 shares.

Last year, BAI's shareholders approved the amendment of the statutes to allow the opening of its capital on the stock exchange in 2022.

According to the weekly newspaper Expansão, General Leopoldino Fragoso do Nascimento "Dino" recently sold to Banco Angolano de Investimentos (BAI) the total 3 percent stake he had in the bank for around 20 million dollars.

According to sources at Expansão, the amount was paid in kwanzas and the transaction was concluded at the end of January, with BAI being the purchaser of General "Dino"'s shares in BAI.

With the purchase of General "Dino"'s stake, the bank's own shares rose to 8 percent.

The bank did not confirm this information, nor did it make any statement on the matter.

In addition to the state-owned 10 percent, the bank's remaining shares are held by several shareholders, none of whom hold qualifying holdings.
