The information was made public this Tuesday in the province of Huila by the Apostolic Nuncio in Angola and St. Thomas and Vatican Ambassador to both countries, Giovanni Gaspari.
"He [the new bishop of Uige] has all our support and the promise to accompany him with our prayer and our Christian, ecclesial and fraternal support to his new mission. May God bless him and give him in abundance all the necessary gifts of the holy spirit in his new ministry," Giovanni Gaspari said in his speech.
After Francisco da Mata Mourisca and Emilio Sumbelelo, priest Joaquim Nyanganga Tchombe, current rector of the Theology Seminary of the Archdiocese of Lubango, became the third bishop of the diocese of Uige, in the north of the country.
The new bishop will integrate, after a ceremony of episcopal sacrament, the college of bishops of the Episcopal Conference of Angola and São Tomé (CEAST).
