Luanda Government clarifies admission criteria for public tender

The lists with the results of candidates for the public tender promoted by the Provincial Government of Luanda (GPL) are already in the public domain. About 140 thousand candidates participated in the competition for access to the provincial staff, with only 2000 vacancies.

The shortage of vacancies generated a lot of anticipation and excitement, especially after the provisional lists were posted on 10 January. David Loké, director of the Human Resources Office and president of the GPL Jury, explained that for admission to the competition, the main criterion was to obtain the highest score, between 14 and 20, in conjunction with the number of vacancies available for each category in each municipality, and finally the regularization of the documentation presented.

David Loké also recalls, in a statement to which VerAngola had access, that the tests were produced in series, in the various categories. However, in some municipalities, the minimum grade for admission to a given category could be 16, but for the same category in another municipality, due to the performance of the candidates, the admission grade would already be 18 values.

The official puts forward as an example the municipality of Belas, where only three vacancies were available for the category of Middle Technician of Third Class, with the minimum grade for entry being 18 values. In this case, the three candidates who obtained this grade were admitted, whereas the one who obtained 17 values was not admitted due to insufficient vacancies.

The chairman of the jury committee mentioned that he was receiving complaints and dissatisfaction from several candidates for misunderstanding the categories, especially between "Middle Technician Third Class" and "Technician Third Class", which are different.

The GPL made available only 2038 vacancies for different categories, in different municipalities, to which 140 thousand candidates competed, and on which provisional lists were published.

However, the tender is still under analysis, regarding the regularity of the candidates' documentation. In case of irregularity in the documentation, some candidates may be recaptured, adds the GPL in a statement.

As for the publication of the definitive lists, there is still no date for publication, depending on the Court of Auditors' assessment.
