According to information provided by the company, the Maersk Voyager drilling rig will be used to drill the deepest well in the world, which includes blocks 32 and 48 in Angola, and another near Namibia.

The project, which is due to start in January, will last 240 days and the total amount contracted was approximately 46.3 million dollars, according to the specialized press.

"We are delighted to once again break down the barriers in collaboration with Total by leveraging our mutual experience in an exciting exploration of projects over the past few years", commented Maersk Drilling director Morten Kelstrup.

"It's great to return to Angola, where we did a series of successful operations between 2012 and 2016, and campaigning in more than one country will be able to show our ability to quickly and smoothly move operations from one jurisdiction to another", added the responsable.

Maersk already had the deepest drilling record with the Raya 1 in Uruguay, which explored oil at 3400 meters.
