According to Sérgio Hirose, the bank's executive director, DUbank Angola has not yet been inaugurated because it is waiting for the green light from the National Bank of Angola (BNA) - the regulator of banking activity in the country. He also revealed that all the necessary requirements to proceed with the launch of the banking platform have already been fulfilled - such as share capital, structure, balance sheet, transparency, among others - and that the BNA is now lacking a response.
But how will it work? According to Sérgio Hirose, in declarations to Angop, the use will be quite simple. The bank will work through an application on a mobile phone and each of its clients will have at their disposal a multi-card. However, all transactions can be made via mobile phone.
As for the security of movements, the executive director pointed that this will not be a problem: although for now the country still does not have a regulation of the activities of digital banks, Sergio Hirose guaranteed that all transactions will be made safely, since the Central Bank will be responsible for auditing DUbank Angola.
The bank will also have a customer service available, revealed the executive director to Angop, explaining that since it is a digital bank it will be easier to reach customers, since it is enough to have access to the Internet (from 2G) for the movements to be made.
The idea seems to have pleased the angolans: since December last year, more than five thousand pre-registration requests have been registered to open an account.
In addition, the new bank will bring 100 new jobs to the country, said Sergio Hirose.
