"This means that in terms of availability the ZEE has a surplus (...). At this exact moment we have the capacity to meet demand and with a surplus of 50 percent", he told Lusa, adding that the organization still has a capacity storage of 3800 cubic meters of water and a daily consumption of 2 thousand cubic meters.

Despite the aforementioned installed capacity in the field of water, Aguinaldo Delgado recognized, on the other hand, that the ZEE is also affected by the problems that occur in the country in the field of abstraction and distribution.

"If we take into account that the capture and distribution of water is directly related to the need for energy, whenever we have energy problems we necessarily have problems with water", he stressed, refusing that the situation conditions investments in that unit.

The country's ZEE currently has 136 manufacturing units, 89 of which are in operation.

In an analysis of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), it holds the fourth largest Special Economic Zone in the world, with Brazil (47 percent), Portugal (22 percent) and Cape Verde (10 percent) ahead in terms of territorial area.

According to data from the CPLP Economic Affairs department, to which Lusa had access, on the sidelines of the 14th Water, Energy and Environment Forum, which takes place in Luanda, the total area of the ZEE exclusive to the countries of the Lusophone bloc is around of 7.9 million square kilometers.

After Brazil, Portugal and Cape Verde, come Mozambique (eight percent), Angola (six percent), Equatorial Guinea (four percent), while Guinea-Bissau, São Tomé and Timor-Leste occupy the next positions with one per cent. cent each, in terms of territorial shares of the community's ZEE.

The CPLP's economic pillar, whose agenda is based on seven axes, namely the promotion of trade, investment promotion, institutional and business training, among others, is an initiative of Angola's rotating presidency.

At this forum, promoted by the Organization of Young Entrepreneurs of the European Union (JEUNE), in partnership with the management of ZEE Luanda-Bengo, it was also announced that the CPLP, with approximately 300 million inhabitants, is the fourth largest gas producer and holder 14 percent of the world's freshwater resources.

Alberto Carvalho Neto, president of JEUNE, highlighted the working partnership with ZEE, signaling that the meeting allows to discuss "without taboos" the challenges that exist in access to energy, water and environmental projects, aiming to create sustainability and inclusive growth.
