Bornito de Sousa receives André Sinela, the youngest Angolan PhD trained in France

André Mundombe Sinela, considered the country's youngest PhD in 2018 and who is representing Angola at Saison Africa 2020 - an initiative of Universcience, which aims to disseminate scientific studies of 49 young Africans under 35 years of age - was received this Wednesday by the Vice President of the Republic, Bornito de Sousa.

:

André Sinela is 32 years old, born in Huambo and has a PhD in Food Biochemistry from the International Centre for Higher Studies in Agronomic Sciences in France, where he also took a Master's degree in Food Technology.

"The young doctor graduated as a result of a grant co-financed by the Angola and France cooperation. In 2018, Dr. Sinela was awarded in the Academic Highlight category of the "Angola 35 Degrees" Project and was considered the youngest PhD in Angola that year," can be read in a statement sent to VerAngola.

The note also reveals that the young man is a professor at the Instituto Superior de Tecnologia Agro-Alimentar de Malanje and is the creator of "Ombuto Yetu", which since the beginning of this month has been on display at Saison África 2020 - an initiative of Universcience, which aims to disseminate scientific studies of 49 young Africans under 35.

The start-up "consists of the installation of a field school that aims to present solutions for the improvement and multiplication of local seeds, as well as the application of good agricultural practices," the note states.
