Maria do Rosário Carrolo presents work at the CCBA

:

On December 4th, at 11:00 am, the Centro Cultural Brasil-Angola will launch the 1st edition of the book "Towétowé, the sweetness of an African tale", by Maria do Rosário Carrolo.

Towétowé is a wild fruit whose intense sweetness remains in the mouth for some time after being ingested, thus absorbing the flavor of everything you eat or drink afterwards. It originates from the forests of Amboim-Gabela, Province of Cuanza Sul. However, nowadays it is increasingly difficult to find.

The book, on the other hand, tells the story of two young teenagers who, on their way to the arimbo to pick cassava leaves, which their grandmother had asked them to do, one of the leaves completely changes their life stories. The tale that narrates the beauty of the nature of the Amboim forest at the time, where Lemba and Kangila used to live, also invites the reader on a journey of family, cultural, human values and, above all, maximum respect for the environment.

Edited by Honor Editora, this book has six chapters and, in the middle, contains secular teachings from older to younger generations, in the form of proverbs.

The amount collected from the sale will revert to the Luanda Oncology Center.
