Liqui Huambo intends to transform ‘Água Cuima’ “in the main reference of the country” in less than a year

The transformation of the ‘Água Cuima’ brand into the “main reference” for consumption in the country, within a ten-month horizon, is among Liqui Huambo’s intentions.

The expansion of this product throughout the country joins the list of the company's major obstacles, already composed of the intention to make the brand the main choice of consumers, in less than a year, according to Felisberto Valente, director of the company, in statements to Angop.

With the implementation of its expansion strategy and reaching all provinces, the company expects to rise, within the aforementioned period, from third to first place in terms of consumer choice, said the director.

According to the official, quoted by Angop, the optimistic forecasts are related to the results achieved last year, in which the brand had reasonable acceptance in the market in the provinces where it operates, along with orders in other parts of the country considering the quality compared to other existing ones.

"These indicators propose us the challenges of being able to expand throughout the national territory and, at the same time, we have become the main reference in the country, in terms of consumption of water produced by companies operating in the Angolan market", said Felisberto Valente, quoted by Angop.

The official noted the capabilities of the competition for having a superior production structure. However, he assured that the targets will be achieved based on the policies that the company intends to implement, especially at the production level.

Thus, he revealed that they have "in their portfolio" the installation of a third production line to fill 0.33 milliliter bottles, until February next year.

Cited by Angop, the official clarified that this new line, whose bottles will be used for restaurants and domestic purposes, will be able to produce 4000 bottles/hour, in addition to the current 8000 liters per hour for bottles with 0.5 milliliters, at 9000 for 1.5 liter bottles, 800 for 5 liter bottles, 500 for 10 liter bottles and 300 for 20 liter bottles.

With its implementation, 30 more jobs are expected to be created.

The company's director ruled out for now the possibility of exporting the product, since, although there is interest on the part of foreign businessmen, they first want to achieve the goals established for the country's market.

He also mentioned that among the company's intentions is the production of sparkling water and juices, having bought two farms to grow fruit. Cited by Angop, he indicated that the projects are being analyzed without revealing deadlines.

According to Angop, the company is located in the commune of Cuima, in the municipality of Caála and has been open since 2016. It has two production lines designed to fill bottles of 0.5 milliliters, 1.5 liters, five liters, 10 liters and 20 liters, operating in the markets of the provinces of Benguela, Bié, Cuando Cubango, Cunene, Huambo, Huíla, Luanda and Namibe.
