Fernanda Renée Samuel and Matheus Steita among the 100 most influential people of African descent in the world in 2021

Environmentalist Fernanda Renée Samuel and writer Matheus Steita were recognized by the UN as 'Most Influential People of African Descent' (MIPAD), making the list of the 100 most influential people of African descent in the world in 2021.

:

Quoted by Platinaline, Matheus Steita said he was "flattered" with this recognition: "I'm flattered to be among the 100 most influential young people of African descent in the world by MIPAD."

"This shows that we have been doing an impressive job in recent years and that it has inspired young people to dream and fight for their dreams. I was born in Uíge province and due to the war I came to Luanda to fight for my dreams and today I find myself on this list, it is a source of great joy and satisfaction", he indicated.

He also said that he hopes that "many other Angolan youth who have done an incredible job on behalf of other youth will be recognized on this platform that unites many personalities in the world."

Remember that this is not the first time that Angolans have been awarded the MIPAD. In the 2018, 2019 and 2020 editions, names such as Adjany Costa, João Kanda, Adão de Almeida, Ivanilson Machado, among others, were recognized by this body.
