The Minister of Public Works, Urbanism and Housing, Carlos Alberto dos Santos, left the guarantee that from next month the delivery of the first apartments of the “Vida Pacifica” centrality will start. This process will take place over the next three months, and the more than 2000 apartments in this centrality will be delivered to their owners by the end of the year.

The guarantee was made this Saturday, within the scope of a visit to the Zango 0 project, to check the progress of the requalification works of the 2352 dwellings, which correspond to 21 of the 28 buildings of this urbanization.

Thus, according to the official, at least three to four buildings should be delivered in October, with prospects of delivering the same number in November and closing the process in December.

"According to the contractors and inspectors, at least three to four buildings could be delivered next month, in the month of November we will be here again, they also give us the prospect of almost the same number being delivered and we will then close in the month of December", he said, quoted by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA).

Regarding the rehabilitation works of the buildings, which are between 50 and 75 percent physically completed, the minister considered that "an expectation on the part of young people" was fulfilled and considered that the acts of vandalism in these buildings were quite visible, harming the State "doubled".

"We fulfilled an expectation on the part of the young people, we actually came to see what stage the works are at and this allows each of the young people to leave here well informed about the level of rehabilitation of their own house. of vandalism that these buildings had", he indicated.

"The State is doubly penalized because it has to make investments that have already been made, the investment for these works is around 41 million dollars", and these resources could be "used either for more houses or for other public goods that our people very accurate", he added, quoted by RNA.

He also left an appeal for the conservation of infrastructure: "The appeal now made to young people is the conservation of this public good that must be everyone's responsibility, knowing how to use and honor what is the law".

The delivery of apartments in this project will mainly include young people who will receive the keys through the National Youth Council (CNJ).

Virgílio Belo, a contractor, quoted by Angop, said that the dates are being adhered to and reiterated that given the vandalism to which the apartments were targeted, they had to import materials: "As a result of the high state of vandalism of the apartments, it was necessary, among the various materials, import interior doors that are already in the country, a situation that conditions the progress of the works".

In turn, Isaías Calunga, president of the CNJ, appealed to future tenants to calm down, stressing that the project is ongoing and that housing for young people will soon be delivered (about 1,000 properties), writes Angop.

According to Angop, last month, a total of 112 houses were delivered to young people who obeyed the contracts.
