In his speech, João Lourenço reaffirmed his vocation in this matter, assuring that "Angola, by signing the Protocol against Illicit Traffic in Wild Flora and Fauna Species under the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime, is committed to to adopt adequate legislation that criminalizes illicit trafficking in wildlife and parts of wildlife".
