Expo-Huíla starts this Wednesday with more than 300 exhibitors

More than 300 exhibitors, including Italians, Portuguese and Namibians, will be present at the 29th edition of Expo-Huíla, which starts this Wednesday in Lubango and runs until next Sunday, August 14th.

Until the eve of the launch of the largest business exchange in the south of the country, 312 companies were registered, informed Paulo Gaspar, president of the Agricultural, Commercial and Industrial Association of Huíla (AAPCIL).

The official indicated that among the more than 300 exhibitors, four companies from Italy and three from Portugal and Namibia will be present, as well as national companies.

Cited by Jornal de Angola, Paulo Gaspar said that there are exhibitors from several provinces – such as Cunene, Cuando Cubango, Namibe, Luanda, Cuanza Sul, Malanje, Uíge, Benguela, Huíla, and others – and that the 14 municipal administrations of Huíla are also going to be present at the contest.

He also informed that an enlargement of the space was made, in about 25 percent compared to the previous capacity.

Speaking to Jornal de Angola, he referred that the "demand is very high this year", with the need to expand the areas to provide answers to the companies dedicated to the exploration of granite which, according to the official, correspond to most of the exports of the province.

"It would be unfair for these companies to be out once again for lack of space on the largest business exchange," he added.

In addition to granite companies, this expansion also aimed to respond to companies in the fields of renewable energy and agricultural machinery, he said, adding that in these new areas both fixed and mobile stands can be implemented, as well as expanding them according to each company.

He informed that, compared to the past, the number of spaces had a significant increase, having gone from 220 to 320. Although he considers that "it is not desirable", he will reduce the demand, especially this year, in which the expectations regarding the requests were overcome, writes Jornal de Angola.

"One month before Expo-Huíla, we already had 90 percent of spaces filled", he said, quoted by Jornal de Angola.

The event, which is part of the Nossa Senhora do Monte Festival, will also include lectures on Commerce, Industry, Agriculture and Livestock.
