Expo Mulher: João Lourenço listens to requests and guarantees funding for a drug laboratory

This Monday, in Luanda, the Expo Mulher 2022 started. With more than a thousand exhibitors, the fair was attended by João Lourenço. The candidate for President of the Republic – for a second term – listened carefully to the concerns of the exhibitors, paying special attention to a group of finalist students in the Biochemistry cost of the Instituto Politécnico Industrial de Luanda (IPIL).

The finalists alerted the current head of state to the importance of Biotechnology and its impact on the daily lives of citizens. So much so that there was a promise of government support for funding and setting up a drug quality control laboratory at IPIL. There were shouts of joy and the promise, by the students, that the laboratory will be at the service of their academic challenges and beyond.

Accompanied by his wife, Ana Dias Lourenço, João Lourenço visited the space for two and a half hours, not making statements to the press but interacting with the exhibitors.

The fair is promoted by the Organization of Angolan Women (OMA), with the aim of encouraging the participation of women in the productive and economic activity of the country. It has more than a thousand exhibitors, taking place this Monday in the Bay of Luanda under the motto "Women Committed to the Peace and Development of Angola".

In the exhibition tent set up in the Bay, visitors can find the various exhibition stands linked to politics, science and technology, education and health, agriculture, food, clothing, among other services led by women. The contest ends this Wednesday, August 10th.
