The symbolic launch took place in the municipal market of Cuito and was chaired by the technical-operational coordinator of PREI, Mário Jacob, accompanied by the deputy municipal administrator of Cuito for the Social Sector, Ângela Ucueianga, and by the director of the Provincial Office for Integrated Development. from Bié, Israel Elavoca.
On the occasion, Mário Jacob presented to the citizens and sellers of the Cuito market the various services incorporated in the PREI ecosystem, highlighting, among others, the acquisition of the Identity Card (Justice), social protection (INSS), business creation ( GUE), simplified account opening (banking), microcredit granting (FACRA), and the Unitel Mobile Money service (banking operations using mobile phones).
Mário Jacob urged the sellers of the Cuito market to join the formalization campaign, having, on the occasion, underlined the benefits that this program brings to bench and street vendors, who, according to him, in the medium term will be able to emigrate to PRODESI, after of consolidating their businesses and, thus, transforming themselves into medium-sized entrepreneurs.
In the Cuito market, sellers Maria Helena, Alexandrina Nassoma and Lopes Dumba were the first to be formalized and received their respective countertop seller cards, as well as cell phones, to use the Unitel Mobile Money service - a mechanism that also competes for digital inclusion and finance, with which small traders will carry out banking operations within the financial circuit, says a statement sent to VerAngola.
Government entities from Cuito, traditional authorities, members of local civil society and staff from the Ministry of Economy and Planning participated in the event.
The second phase of the formalization campaign in Bié runs until the 20th of August and expects to remove around 6,000 operators in the municipality from informality.
Remember that the first phase of the PREI campaign in this central region of the country was launched in January this year, at the Chissindo Market, by the Minister of Economy and Planning, Mário Caetano João. Since its launch in November 2021, the Informal Economy Reconversion Program (PREI) has taken 242,909 informal agents out of informality across the country.
