The 62-year-old coach said he will start by doing an internal analysis, despite already having some knowledge about the team, which last season's Girabola ranked fourth with 50 points.
Rogério Gonçalves has coached several Portuguese clubs such as Limianos (1992/93 and 1994/95), Vianense (1995/96 and 1998/99), Varzim (1999/00, 2001/02 and 2003/04) and Desportivo de Chaves ( 2002/03).
He also worked at Naval 1.º de Maio (2004/05), Leixões (2005/06), followed by Sporting de Braga, Beira-Mar and Académica, in addition to the Mozambicans from Ferroviário de Nampula.
The 2022/2023 edition of Girabola, whose reigning champion is Petro de Luanda, guided by Portuguese coach Alexandre Santos, starts on August 27th.
